From the funding student organizations to financing Student Government's initiatives, the Finance Committee maximizes how students' money is spent.
The Finance Committee is comprised of senators and at-large members who oversee the spending of the student activity fee. Each semester, all students contribute $49 to Student Government in the form of the student activity fee. It's up to the Finance Committee to ensure this funding is distributed effectively, fairly, and in a way that benefits as many students as possible. Paying for student organizations' conferences, competitions, and other important functions is one of many the ways Student Government supports Iowa State's world class student talent. Members of this committee gain valuable skills in financial manement, attention to detail, and thoughtful fiscal stewardship as they oversee how Student Government invests the student activity fee.
