    About the Task Force

To ensure all students have a level playing field, this task force aims to measure and address food insecurity on our campus.

Studies show as many as one in three Iowa State students face some form of insecurity. Student Government firmly believes that every student should know where their next meal is coming from, and no student should have to choose between a textbook or meals for the week. Preventative approaches are clearly needed to level the playing field. Following his inauguration, President Hursh signed into law this task force to better fulfill students’ basic needs through assessment and action. Led by the Nonprofit Coordinator, this task force is hard at work collaborating with key partners as they recommend actions to reduce food insecurity at Iowa State University.
