    About the Committee

Composed of senators and at-large members, we design and implement initiatives to make our campus greener. Collaborating with student organizations and university partners, we promote sustainable choices and enact campus-wide improvements to reduce our environmental footprint. Notable projects include hosting the One Sustainable Iowa Conference in 2024, installing a bike repair station at the Memorial Union, and deploying solar trash and recycling compactors across campus. Members gain valuable skills in sustainable practices, attention to detail, and land stewardship while enhancing the campus for all students.

    The Green Initiatives Fund

Iowa State’s Student Government encourages students to make a sustainable impact with their time at Iowa State. One way it does this is with the Green Initiatives Fund, facilitated through the Sustainability Committee! We aim to support student-initiated projects that promote environmental, economic and social sustainability.
