From fostering conversation about equity to supporting international students, the IDEA Committee serves Iowa State's underrepresented student populations.
The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Committee is comprised of senators and at-large members who seek to make the student experience better for underrepresented students. This committee works tirelessly to uplift the voices of students through critical projects and initatives — Student Government's annual Multicultural Town Hall, for instance, engages various multicultural student organizations in honest conversation about equity on campus. Further, this committee works on projects designed to support international students; the IDEA committee has a strong record of uplifting Iowa State's world class international student talent. Members of this committee gain valuable skills in advocacy, service, and event management as they seek to create a campus that uplifts all voices.
